& deliver to BF Food Pantry!
All our local food we collect here in Big Flats goes directly to the Big Flats Food Pantry!
Thank you to our Scouts, Food Pantry Volunteers & our Community support!
Scouting for food is one of our major community service activities. This provides nonperishable food items to those in need in our own area.
When do we meet?
The dates are the 1st & 2nd Saturday in November.
Where do we meet?
We will meet at TAB in the morning on both days.
What will we be doing?
For the 1st Saturday in November date, we need parents and scouts to drop off bags for the community to fill. We will work in groups to cover our assigned areas. This will take only a few hours.
For the 2nd Saturday in November date, we need to collect the filled bags and return them to the First Presbyterian Church located at 95 Main St. in Big Flats before Noon that day. This usually will take most of the morning. We ask that you please bring laundry baskets or boxes to pack the bags in if you are driving. Also, in the past 2 or 3 adults to meet the morning of the pick up to acquire additional boxes. We work in groups on both days. One adult in each group contacts the Chairperson when you are done in your assigned area because a few of the areas take much longer to finish. All scouts must work in groups and not go off individually. Buddy system. Scouts should be reminded to watch for cars at all times. Scouts should wear their Class "A" uniforms and/or Pack 86 sweatshirts depending on weather. This is an outdoor activity, so dress appropriately.
